Economic Growth Linked to Unsustainable Environmental Impact, Urgent Action Needed
The study aimed to see if economic growth affects the ecological footprint by looking at 11 newly industrialized countries from 1977 to 2013. They used special methods to analyze the data. The results showed that as economies grow, the impact on the environment first increases, but then decreases in an inverted U-shaped way. The researchers also found that economic growth and environmental impact affect each other back and forth.
