Fragmentation of River Segments Threatens Water Supply in Gowri-hole Sub-catchment.
The researchers studied how rivers and underground water interact in the Gowri-hole area. They used a computer model to simulate these interactions and found that the river gains water during the rainy season but loses water in the dry months. This led to some parts of the river drying up. However, the underground water continued to flow even in the summer, preventing the river from completely drying out.
