Edge detection and recognition in images is crucial for identifying objects. The traditional Canny algorithm is fast but struggles with complex backgrounds. To address this, an improved algorithm was developed. This new method effectively removes background noise and accurately detects edges, as shown in experiments with credit card numbers. The improved algorithm provides precise edge positions and excellent segmentation results.
