Riparian vegetation in Ethiopia facing threats from human disturbances and grazing.
The study looked at the types of trees and plants growing along the Walga River in Southwestern Ethiopia. Researchers found 99 different tree species in the area, with most being shrubs. They identified four main groups of plants that grow together in different parts of the area. The researchers also discovered that the number of plant species decreases as you go higher in altitude. They found that human activities like grazing and disturbances are harming the plants in some parts of the area. By understanding the different plant communities and the environment they grow in, we can better protect and manage the forest resources in the region.
