Paper Summary

A study was done to see how safflower plants respond to different types of green manure and levels of nitrogen and phosphorus in rainfed conditions. They found that using cowpea and sunnhemp as green manure resulted in higher safflower seed yield and profits compared to greengram and fallow. Also, using higher levels of fertility led to higher seed yield and profits. The best results were seen when cowpea and sunnhemp were used as green manure along with higher fertility levels.
