Artificial neural networks were used to predict the water retention curve of Sicilian agricultural soils by analyzing soil properties like texture, density, and organic carbon. The study found that the neural networks accurately estimated the soil water retention data with a high level of precision, showing that these models can be a valuable tool for predicting soil hydraulic properties in a cost-effective and efficient manner.
