Filtration Units Improve Canal Water Quality, Meeting WHO Standards.
The study tested different water filtration units to see how well they could clean canal water. They looked at pH levels, turbidity (cloudiness), total dissolved solids (TDS), and electrical conductivity (EC) in the filtered water. The dual media unit reduced pH the most, while slow sand reduced turbidity the most. However, TDS and EC levels increased in the filtered water due to minerals from the sand. Overall, the filtered water met World Health Organization standards.
