Regional spatial planning in Ghana is crucial for achieving national development goals. Different types of regions can be defined for planning purposes. The chapter discusses the history of regional planning in Ghana and the challenges of having two planning systems. Recent projects show how regional spatial planning is being implemented in practice. The current structures for regional planning are being evaluated to improve the system.
