Spatial information between pixels is crucial for accurate image segmentation. A new method combines pixel spatial and gray level data to create a two-dimensional histogram. By using a non-local mean filter and relative entropy criteria, the method selects the best thresholding vector for improved segmentation accuracy. This approach outperforms existing methods in segmenting images effectively.
