The article discusses using remote sensing and geographical information systems to create flood management plans in South East Iran. By analyzing rainfall and river flow data, researchers can predict flood peaks and minimize flood damage through better planning. Flood routing techniques help determine flood hydrographs and artificial intelligence can improve flood prediction models. With increasing extreme rainfalls and floods due to climate change, South Iran faces a growing flood risk. To reduce future damages, new constructions in flood-prone areas should be flood-proofed and building codes should ensure structures are above flood levels.
