Flawed Hospital Admission System Puts Patients at Risk
The researchers evaluated the usability of a hospital information system used for admissions, discharges, and transfers. They found a total of 186 usability problems, with the most common issues being severe and minor. Some problems were due to features not yet implemented in the system. The highest number of issues related to the principle of "recognition rather than recall". Overall, the system still had unresolved usability problems despite being implemented on a large scale.
