India's Coal Reserves Offer Cleaner Energy Solution, Reducing Emissions for Millions
Indian non-coking coals have high ash content, which makes it difficult to transport them long distances for power plants. To meet government regulations, coal needs to have ash content below 34%. The solution is to use washing plants to reduce the ash content. Currently, 30% of coal is washed before being used for power generation. Studies have shown that high ash Indian coals can be effectively cleaned through beneficiation methods, allowing for better compliance with environmental regulations.
