Russian Federation Courts Overturn Antitrust Decisions on Price Discrimination, Impacting Market Regulation.
The article examines how price discrimination is regulated in the Russian commodity markets. It found that many decisions by antitrust authorities are challenged in court and often canceled. Over a four-year period, there were 227 cases of antimonopoly law violations related to price discrimination. The study suggests methods to assess and limit price discrimination practices among oligopolies, aiming to reduce price differences between buyers without increasing sales costs. It also proposes improving exchange trading practices in commodity markets to decrease the ability to implement price discrimination.
