A new image segmentation algorithm has been developed based on the Otsu Method, aiming to improve the accuracy and speed of separating objects from backgrounds in images. This algorithm considers situations where objects and backgrounds overlap in the image histogram, leading to better segmentation results compared to traditional methods. The improved algorithm shows higher precision, better performance, and faster processing speed in experiments.
