Accurate Spring Snowmelt Forecasting Secures Water Supply for Millions in Northeast China
The researchers studied snowmelt runoff in a reservoir in northeast China to improve flood control and water resource management. They analyzed weather data from 1987-2016 and found that factors like radiation, temperature, and precipitation affect snowmelt runoff. By using a special model, they were able to predict snowmelt runoff with good accuracy, helping to better understand and manage water resources in the region.
