Desiccation of lakes in Turkey threatens underwater plant life survival.
The study compared the amount of underwater plants in a lake that dries up sometimes and a lake that always has water. They looked at two types of plants, M. spicatum and P. pectinatus. They found that the amount of M. spicatum plants changed depending on the season, but not on the type of lake. However, the amount of P. pectinatus plants was different between the two types of lakes and changed with the season.
