The goal of the study was to reduce the harmful sulfur content in coal using chemical methods. Researchers treated coal samples with Sodium Hydroxide and Potassium Hydroxide at different temperatures to break down pyrite and remove sulfur. The results showed that the chemical treatment successfully decreased the sulfur content in the coal structure, improving its quality and reducing environmental and health risks associated with sulfur emissions.
