Boosting maize yields with compost and full fertilizer dose revolutionizes agriculture
A study was conducted to see how different types and amounts of fertilizers affect the growth and yield of hybrid maize. They tested compost, cow dung, poultry manure, and recommended chemical fertilizers in various combinations. The results showed that using compost along with the full recommended dose of fertilizer gave the highest grain yield, while poultry manure alone gave the lowest yield. The plants treated with compost and full fertilizer dose grew taller, had more leaves, and produced larger cobs with more grains. This suggests that a balanced mix of organic and chemical fertilizers can lead to better crop growth and higher yields in maize farming.
