Ethiopian forest study reveals diverse species and urgent need for conservation
A study in a natural forest in North West Ethiopia looked at the types of trees there. They found 69 different tree species, with the most common being from the Fabaceae family. The forest has high diversity and the trees are evenly spread out. Carissa edulis is the most important tree in the area. There are more small trees than big ones, suggesting that the bigger trees are being selectively removed by the local community.
