National parliaments in EU fail to deliver more democracy and legitimacy.
National parliaments in the EU were given more power by the Lisbon Treaty to control EU laws and improve democracy. However, a study from 2010-2014 found that national parliaments did not work well together as a group. This lack of cooperation made it hard for them to make the EU more democratic. The study also showed that when they did work together, it was mostly based on technical knowledge rather than political reasons.
