Municipal governments in Shambu Town, Ethiopia faced challenges in collecting revenue efficiently from 2014 to 2018. The study used surveys and interviews to find that the main issues were poor fiscal planning, lack of trained staff, weak administrative capacity, and insufficient communication with taxpayers. These problems led to ineffective revenue collection, highlighting the need for better governance practices and improved tax awareness.
