Reclaimed land in China shows improved soil quality after mining.
The researchers looked at soil in a reclaimed area of a mining site in China to see how it changed over time. They checked a south dump after 4 years of reclamation, a north dump after 8 years, and undamaged land. They found that the soil properties in the reclaimed areas were different from the undamaged land, showing that reclamation efforts had an impact on the soil.
