The researchers tested a mix of alum and lime to clean up cloudy water from Iraqi oilfields. They found that using 75% alum and 25% lime, with 80 mg/l of the mix, at pH 6, and waiting 120 minutes, reduced turbidity from 92 to 2.1 NTU.
