Optimizing nitrogen fertilizer application boosts wheat yield and efficiency.
The study looked at how different amounts and timings of nitrogen fertilizer affect wheat growth in Ethiopia. They found that applying 240 kg of nitrogen per hectare in three split doses produced the best wheat yield. Using more nitrogen didn't increase yield, but it did increase nitrogen content in the grain. Applying 120 kg of nitrogen in split doses at different growth stages gave the highest nitrogen use efficiency. Overall, applying 240 kg of nitrogen in split doses was the best way to get the most wheat yield while using nitrogen efficiently.
