The article examines how land is used and managed in Burkina Faso from 1983 to 2014. Agricultural land increased by 35.42%, driven by factors like population density and economic changes. The country has land policies in place, but struggles with implementing them effectively due to limited institutional capacity. This can worsen the impacts of changes in land use caused by social, economic, and spatial factors.
