Donors can influence NGOs to be more accountable to the people they help. The study shows that donors use different strategies to make sure NGOs are doing a good job for their beneficiaries. Instead of just focusing on donors controlling NGOs, we should also look at how donors can help make NGOs more accountable to the people they serve.
