EU agricultural policy fails to halt biodiversity loss by 2020.
The 2013 EU agricultural policy reform aimed to make farming more environmentally friendly to protect biodiversity. However, the EU and UK have not met their goals to stop biodiversity loss by 2020. This study looked at how the reform was made and carried out in the UK to see if it helped biodiversity. It found that improvements are needed in how policies are made, how the public is involved, and how they are put into action. The guidelines in place are a step forward, but more changes are needed for better results.
