Optimum Nitrogen Levels Boost Maize Yield in Southern Ethiopia Dramatically
A study in Southern Ethiopia looked at how different amounts of nitrogen fertilizer affected the growth and yield of two types of maize plants. They found that applying 90 kg of nitrogen per hectare led to the highest grain yield and improved various plant characteristics like ear length and number of seeds per ear. This means that using this specific amount of nitrogen with one of the maize varieties can help farmers produce the best maize yield in that area.
