Sheep Embryos Cryopreserved Using Innovative, Cost-Effective Tool, Boosting Livestock Breeding
The scientists developed a new, affordable tool called Vitripeace to freeze and store sheep eggs and embryos effectively. They collected eggs from sheep, matured them in the lab, fertilized them, and then used the Vitripeace tool to freeze them. Upon thawing, the majority of the eggs and embryos had good shape and were alive. However, two-cell embryos showed a decrease in viability after freezing. The tool successfully preserved the eggs and embryos, showing promise for future sheep breeding and genetic research.
