The researchers studied how fine coal can be cleaned using a CrossFlow Separator. They tested different particle sizes and found that a 10:1 ratio between large and small particles works well. By optimizing the process, they reduced the ash content in the clean coal from 33% to 24% while keeping over 70% of the valuable coal. The separator was effective in separating the coal particles based on their size and density.
