Animal welfare is often overlooked in climate policy assessments, despite its importance. The IPCC's Fifth Assessment Report focuses on ecosystem services, biodiversity, and human welfare, but neglects the welfare of animals. This omission is concerning because animal welfare is not adequately captured by these other factors. The report fails to consider the impact of climate change on animals' well-being. Ecosystem services, biodiversity, and human welfare do not fully encompass the welfare of animals. It is crucial to include animal welfare in climate impact assessments to address our responsibility towards animals.
