New study reveals harmful gases in carbon nanomaterial production process.
The study looked at the gases produced when making carbon nanomaterials, which can harm the environment. By analyzing the gases from pyrolyzing a propane-butane mix, researchers found high levels of harmful substances like polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs). Some PAH concentrations were way above safe limits. To prevent this pollution, special equipment is needed for making carbon nanomaterials.
