Optimizing rice nursery seeding rates boosts crop productivity and early maturity.
The study tested different amounts of rice seeds in a nursery to see how it affected the growth of the seedlings and the final crop yield. They found that using 25-35 grams of seeds per square meter resulted in taller seedlings compared to using 40 grams. Younger seedlings aged 10 and 17 days led to taller plants and earlier maturity. Wider spacing between plants also led to taller plants and more leaves. The researchers concluded that the seeding rate, seedling age, and plant spacing didn't significantly impact rice productivity, giving farmers flexibility in their choices.
