Revolutionary Soil Treatment Boosts Crop Yields and Fights Climate Change
The study looked at how to control soil acidity in Lithuania by using a combination of liming and organic fertilizing. They found that just using intensive liming wasn't enough to improve soil conditions for plant growth and nutrient accumulation. By periodically liming the soil and adding farmyard manure, they were able to neutralize soil acidity, increase organic carbon content, promote nitrogen fixation, and achieve higher grain yields. This approach improved soil health and productivity in the long term.
