Toxic air in China: Ozone pollution linked to other pollutants, posing health risks.
Ozone pollution in China has been increasing since 2013, leading to more days with high ozone levels. In 2017, air samples from 338 cities were analyzed to compare ozone levels with nitrogen dioxide, sulfur dioxide, particulate matters, and carbon monoxide. The study found that ozone levels in most northern cities had a negative correlation with other pollutants, while some southern cities showed a positive correlation. Monthly variations in ozone levels were also observed, with different patterns in the North and South. This information can help people in cities where ozone is related to other pollutants predict and protect against ozone pollution.
