Nanoclay was tested as a new way to reduce soil erosion by studying its effect on runoff and sediment in small plots. The results showed that using nanoclay led to a significant decrease in runoff volume, sediment concentration, and soil erosion. The conservation percentages for these factors increased by around 50%, 94%, and 92% respectively after applying nanoclay. This study demonstrates that nanoclay can be an effective conditioner for controlling sediment and runoff, contributing to soil conservation efforts.
