Vertically mixed soil salinity boosts tomato growth and photosynthesis!
Vertically uneven soil salt levels can affect how well tomato plants grow. In this study, different salt distributions were tested to see how they impacted plant growth. The results showed that when salt was more concentrated in the lower soil layer, tomato plants absorbed more potassium and less sodium, leading to better photosynthesis and healthier plants. This means that having varying salt levels in the soil can actually help tomato plants deal with salt stress and grow better.
