New Maize Hybrid Boosts Kernel Yield and Crop Productivity Significantly!
The study looked at different maize plants to see how their traits are inherited. They found that most traits are influenced more by specific combinations of parent plants rather than just the individual parents. One parent, IMR-33, was good for many traits like cob yield and plant height. A specific cross, VL-1032 × WNC 40218, showed the best results for cob and kernel yield. Another cross, BLD-329 × BLD-270, had high levels of heterosis for cob and kernel yield.
