The researchers used GIS and remote sensing technology to accurately extract watersheds and sub-basins in the Asgar Khanlu area. By utilizing the Hydrology tool in ArcMap software and digital elevation data, they successfully closed watershed boundaries and identified drainage routes. The study focused on the Asgar Khanlu watershed, determining sub-basins A-1, A-2, A-3, and A-int. The results, confirmed through visual interpretation and digital elevation models, showed high accuracy in extracting the watershed. This method is recommended for studying landforms over traditional manual techniques.
