The article discusses a new method for collecting and managing software cost data, specifically focusing on aerospace projects. By gathering information on various cost factors from past projects, the researchers aim to improve cost estimation and management in software development. The method involves categorizing cost factors into 8 classes to better understand their impact on overall project costs. The developed software-cost database allows for easy storage and retrieval of this data, aiding in more accurate cost estimation and management for future projects. The system is already being used in some ongoing projects to track and control costs effectively.
