The article presents a new way to figure out who is behind cyber attacks in the financial and critical infrastructure sectors. Instead of looking at specific details of attacks, the researchers focused on broader attack patterns used by cyber criminals. By analyzing over 300 reports on cyber incidents, they trained computer programs to identify these patterns accurately. The results showed that their method can attribute cyber threats with high precision, up to 83%, which is much better than other existing methods. The Deep Learning Neural Network they used also performed exceptionally well, attributing cyber threats with 94% accuracy.
