Toxic Malafos Chemicals Cause Behavioral and Blood Changes in Freshwater Fish
The researchers studied how a chemical called malafos affects freshwater fish Oreochromis niloticus. They exposed the fish to different concentrations of malafos and found that it caused behavioral changes and alterations in blood parameters. The fish showed decreased red blood cells, hemoglobin, and hematocrit, while white blood cells increased in number. The 96-hour LC50 value of malafos for O. niloticus was determined to be 1.0125 ppm.
