The study looked at fish populations in a lake-river system in Meschera lowland. They found that the system has a lot of fish species that like plants and have long life cycles. The best conditions for these fish to reproduce are in certain parts of the river system and some medium-sized lakes. The researchers think that small lakes and maybe a river play a big role in fish reproduction, but there isn't much data on them yet.
