Land use and land cover change in Zhangye City were studied using a model called CLUE-S. The researchers looked at factors like distance to city, river, and road, population density, altitude, slope, and aspect to predict changes in land use types. The results showed an increase in woodland, grassland, water, and town areas, while field and unused land areas decreased over the studied period from 2000 to 2020.
