Contamination of heavy metals like Cu2+ and Pb2+ is a big problem in rivers. Scientists studied biofilms in the Cokro River to see if they can help monitor these metals. They found that biofilms had higher levels of Cu2+ and Pb2+ compared to sediment and river water. This shows that biofilms can be a good way to keep an eye on metal pollution in rivers.
