Global authors slow to respond to reprint requests, US leads the way!
The study looked at how often authors send reprints when asked, how long it takes to get them, and how much it costs. They sent over 1,300 requests to authors in 31 countries and got reprints for about 72% of them. Authors in the U.S. were more likely to respond than authors in other countries. Most reprints arrived within three months, with U.S. authors being faster than others. It cost about 22 cents per reprint. Using request cards is a good way to get reprints, even though not all authors send them back and there might be some delay.
