Super-cognition in aging linked to busier, more isolated, and stressful lifestyles.
Older adults with superior cognitive abilities (super-cognition) were studied to understand their cognitive profiles and lifestyle factors. Researchers found that super-cognition is not just about one type of cognitive skill, but can involve different abilities like memory, attention, language, and visuospatial skills. People with super-cognition tend to be less socially active, work long hours, and feel stressed in midlife. This suggests that having a busy, socially isolated, and stressful midlife may be associated with super-cognition in older age.
