Ground-water contamination at Hanford Site continues to worsen, impacting environment.
The report presents results from monitoring ground-water quality at the Hanford Site in 1993. The goal was to track contamination levels and identify emerging issues. Water levels and chemistry were monitored to ensure compliance with environmental regulations and evaluate cleanup efforts. Data showed water levels decreasing in most areas due to changes in disposal practices, with the greatest declines in the 200-West Area. Water levels near B Pond remained stable due to ongoing disposal. Ground-water recharge primarily comes from irrigation practices north and east of the Columbia River.
