Millet-boosted fungus produces record-breaking enzyme, revolutionizing industrial applications.
Trametes versicolor, a type of fungi, produces an enzyme called laccase that can be useful in various applications. Researchers studied how adding millet affects the activity of laccase during the submerged growth of Trametes versicolor. They used two different strains of the fungus and found that adding millet increased the activity of laccase. The strain AG 613 showed higher laccase activity when more millet was added. This research shows that the type and amount of inducer can impact the production of enzymes in Trametes versicolor.
