Optimize maize crop yields and reduce chemical fertilizer use sustainably.
Maize productivity in Central Sulawesi is low, so researchers studied phosphorus fertilizer recommendations for maize crops in different soil nutrient levels. They conducted surveys, tests, and determined P availability classes. The optimal P fertilizer dosages were found to be 76 kg P2O5/ha for low nutrient status, 41 kg P2O5/ha for medium status, and no P fertilizer needed for high to very high nutrient status. This approach can help farmers use fertilizers more efficiently and sustainably, reducing negative impacts on the environment.
